Numerous Join Pro-Palestinian Protests as Organisers Promise to Persist in Activism
Numerous individuals assembled across Australia at pro-Palestine demonstrations, with organisers pledging to keep demonstrating after a peace arrangement negotiated by the American leader in Gaza initially appeared to be holding.
Sydney March Attracts Many Participants
In the harbor city, the pro-Palestine organization announced a crowd of 30,000 had demonstrated from the public gardens to Belmore Park in the central business district after a planned rally to the Opera House was prohibited by the state judicial body recently.
NSW police assessed 8,000 people participated in the Sydney protest, with a spokesperson saying there had been "minimal disturbances".
Australian Rallies Mark Anniversary

"In terms of the movement, we'll absolutely continue to protest for a free Palestine... for local governance, for support to reach and for Palestinians to be able to rebuild Gaza," stated a coordinator.

Many protesters expressed hope that the truce might bring permanent peace. Others were sceptical of American participation and urged supporters to keep pressuring the federal leadership to impose restrictions and stop arms transactions.
A participant, a Australian of Palestinian descent based in Australia, expressed he desired the agreement would allow him to reunite with his aging parent, who is currently in the region without access to medical care, to Australia, and to locate and inter his brother, sister-in-law and their four children, who have been lost contact in 2023.
Jewish Australians Conducts Service
In another development, numerous people participated in a Jewish community commemoration on the evening in the city's eastern areas to remember the occasion of 7 October. Official Comments
The NSW Greens MP the politician addressed participants: "It's unacceptable to permit a reality where the former president decides the destiny of Palestinians to be the kind of world that we live in."
Another organiser who submitted the original application to demonstrate at the famous location claimed that the participants could have peacefully gone to the iconic waterfront location. The senior police representative had previously told the judicial body that the plan had "disaster written all over it".
The coordinator commented during the protest: "Every single time the authorities try to restrict our rallies or take us to the supreme court, it raises public awareness... to the necessity to organize and resist these measures."
