Patriots Equal Best Victory Run Since Tom Brady Era with Triumph Against Jets

First-year player TreVeyon Henderson has scored five scores this season

The New England Patriots tied their longest winning run since the Brady era as they defeated division rivals the Jets by 13 points in professional football

First-year standout Henderson was the standout with three TDs as the Patriots claimed an eighth consecutive victory for the first time since legendary quarterback Brady's closing campaign with the team in 2019

Quarterback Drake Maye threw for 281 yards and a touchdown, connecting on 25 passes from 34 throws

Victory increases the Patriots lead at the top of the AFC East as they advanced to nine wins and two defeats, with the New York at the foot after dropping to two wins and eight losses

The opposing team had gone in front at Foxborough with QB Fields running in a five-yard touchdown to finish the New York's first possession

But the Patriots fought back in the second period as the rookie rushed for two seven-yard TDs before the running back grabbed a reception from Maye at the back of the end zone halfway into the third period to make it 21-7

"It was a crucial moment for him delivering, and it's been great for him to keep gaining experience," the quarterback commented on Henderson. "He aims to be great."

Fields found John Metchie late in the third quarter to reduce the lead for the visitors but Andy Borregales converted a two field goals in the final period as the home side closed out the victory
